about

Time is a strange thing. We recorded this session a while ago now, with the intent of putting it out at some point down the road; that road was 12 years long, and we're still on it. This was how Lorde Awesome worked back then with founding members, Avery Strok and Richard Vainio, jamming/recording at Ave's Little Bastard Studio. We've still got hours and hours of jams like this, waiting to be unearthed. The Little Bastard recordings were a different beast from our sporadic trips to rehearsal spaces, which came equipped with drum kits and mega amps. For those trips, we'd record with our then percussionist, Rich Baker (formally of ARC, with Aidan Baker [Nadja]), prior, our first drummer, Lady Ants, and even a bass player named Darryl..., but I digress.
We had just landed what would become our 10 year live experimental music residency at Toronto's Only Cafe. We'd also just played the Ambient Ping (theambientping.com), and had lined up our first festival gig at The Electric Eclectics (electric-eclectics.com).
SO: This recording was our pre-EE rehearsal jam, as Rich Baker couldn't make it up to the fest. To zero in, we were about one month from our 3rd year anniversary.

So there's our place in time, and here you are. It's time to put on your headphones and dive into our noisy earlier history.

Cheers and Enjoy!
